The general recommended CBD dosage is 0.25 milligrams (regular dosage) to 0.5 milligrams (strong dosage) per pound of pet’s weight. For example, if you want to administer regular dosage of CBD to your dog that’s weighing 40 pounds, you may multiply 40 (body weight) by 0.25 (regular dosage). That will give you 10 milligrams of CBD as the correct dosage to administer.
Where to use the regular dosage for:
- daily health and wellness
- boost immune function
- old age
- minor skin conditions
- stimulate appetite
- minor stress and anxiety
- digestive issues and nausea
- moderate arthritis and joint inflammation
- minor aches and pains
Where to use the strong dosage for:
- chronic pain
- severe arthritis and joint inflammation
- mobility issues
- epileptic seizures
- cancer-related symptoms
- severe anxiety
- extreme nausea
The dosing frequency depends on the symptoms and treatment needed by the pet. In managing pain or inflammation, for instance, the normal dosing frequency is every 8 hours, or as often as required. To manage anxiety, CBD can be given half an hour before the expected event including fireworks, traveling, thunderstorm, separation, and leaving the house.
For other CBD purposes, you can safely give your pet once or twice daily.
